How Split Shift Calculation Works

Unlike standard calculators that just deduct a break duration, this tool allows you to enter two specific sets of Start/End times per day.

Shift 1: 09:00 AM - 01:00 PM (4 hrs)

Shift 2: 05:00 PM - 09:00 PM (4 hrs)

Total: 8 hours worked

Common Questions

How do I account for my lunch beak?

Enter your start time in the first 'Start' field, and the time you went to lunch in 'Lunch Start'. Then enter your return time in 'Return' and your final clock out time. The calculator sums the two working segments.

Can I use this for split shifts?

Yes! The layout is designed perfectly for split shifts or unpaid breaks. Just treat the first segment as your morning shift and the second as your afternoon/evening shift.

How is overtime calculated?

By default, the calculator applies overtime to any hours over 40 in a week. You can adjust this threshold in the settings, as well as the overtime multiplier (default is 1.5x).
