Standard US Federal Holidays

When selecting the option to exclude holidays, our calculator references standard US Federal observances. If a holiday falls on a Saturday, it is observed on the preceding Friday. If it falls on a Sunday, it is observed on the following Monday. These include:

How is 'Hours Per Day' used in the calculation?

The 'Hours Per Day' field represents your shift length (e.g., 8 hours). The calculator multiplies the calculated working days by this value to estimate the total working hours over the date range.

Can I use this for a 4-day, 10-hour work schedule (4/10)?

Yes. You can count the total business days and set the 'Hours Per Day' to 10. If your company operates on custom non-weekend days off, you can adjust the final count manually.

Does the calculator include the start date or end date?

By default, the calculator counts the days *between* the two dates. You can check the 'Include End Date' box if you want to include both the start date and the end date in the total count.

Is weekend pay or premium time calculated here?
